Today we started commenting on the cartoon of Obama coming out of a history book and then we studied and excerpt of his first inaugural address. We compared this excerpt with King's speech.

Watch the entire speech and study the ways he conveys his message.

For next Friday, you will have to study King's speech and I gave you a text to work on and conclude this part on racial segregation.

Today we finished watching Martin Luther King's speech 'I have a dream'

For next time, you have to work on King's speech to find the message he conveyed and how (figures of speech...)

and then we watched a short excerpt of one of Malcolm X's followed by the interview of a young woman who compared King And Malcolm X. Watch it again if you'd like to be able to refer to these two black leaders when needed.

As I told you on Tuesday, you'll have the short test you were supposed to take today on vocabulary and the facts we have studied for this chapter. Then you'll correct the reading comprehension with Mrs Menaï until I finish recording the 1ères' final task.

Remember your final task will be a speech to make so don't hesitate to watch some good examples of politicians and great spokesman. Here are a few things you can read or watch!

This afternoon, we finished working on the report dealing with overconsumption and "Buy nothing day".

Then I asked you to prepare a plan for your oral exam. You did not do this part very well so you have to do it for Friday.

As I told you, you really need to gain self confidence to be able to speak more often and louder in class, otherwise, it will make things very hard for the exam. Get to work to master the douments you've studied and to be able to participate in class.
